I have creative inspire 5.1 5200 which is connected to sound blaster live 5.1 card. when I test the speakers with creative mixer test and 6channel test file from microsoft, the center speaker plays. but when playing mp3 or mpeg files( with media player 9,winamp 3 and others ) the center speaker does not sound.

does the center speaker sound when playing mp3.or is it only for dolby digital 5.1.

only in movies basically. Play a dvd and you will see.

I noticed the same thing. The center speaker doesnt work in games either which it is supposed to. I can put my speakers to 4 channel and the center works, but then the surround sound is not completely working. I know the center speaker is supposed to be going during games. Help please. I also have a SBLive 5.1

I fixed the prob. Turn CMSS in creative's player and the center speaker will sound. Its difficult to find the option in the player though.
