Plea for parts.

Well, I got Doom 3, and surprise, it doesn't run how i'd like it to. In fact, it's near impossible to play. 9 fps when no monsters are around, and 20 if it's pitch black. I've had this problem with pretty much every good game I own.

Another problem being thus: I tend to get bad deals and spent $500 on upgrades in the past year. I'm at a point where my parents have disallowed me from buying any more computer parts or any part that is expensive in their eyes (So like $50 and above). So I am completely unable to buy parts.

So i've come to this: Anyone in Canada or Northern United states who has part(s) better than wheat I own, and who have no use for them and would like to donate or sell to me dirt cheap, just launch an e-mail at andrewcharron@gmail.com . Here's the specs:

- AMD Athlon XP 2400+ 266mhz FSB
- A7A133 ASUS Motherboard (Desperately need a DDR Mobo and Ram)
- 512mb SD RAM PC 133 (" )

- CD-ROM 50x (I believe this to be broken from the amount of errors I receive during CD installs)

- MSI GeForce 4 MX4000 128mb AGP 4x (I believe 64bit. If anyone really has a better card they don't need, I could really use one)

- Generic 1.44mb 3.5" Floppy

- Unknown Soundblaster Soundcard (Nothing exciting, I dont mind this card really)

- D-Link Wireless 802.11b Network (I have this, just thought i'd list it anyways.)

- 40gb Western Digital 7200rpm HD
- 14gb Panasonic 5400?rpm HD (Secondary)
- 60gb Maxtor 5400rpm (Broken, so if you want to trade Under warrenty from IBM until October 2004, but since I don't own the system, they wont replace it. If you want to try, be my guest)

- Standard Heatsink and fan from an Athlon 1100 (2400+ didnt come with one when I bought it)



What I despirately need is (In this order):

- Motherboard with AGP 8x and DDR
- 512mb (Or more) DDR-RAM (Any Speed, any combination (Preferibly 1 512 or 2 256mb), any Brand)
- Better Video Card (Maybe a GeForce 4 Ti, or FX 5200?)
- Bigger Hard Drive (I don't expect anyone has anything bigger that they're willing to give away) (5400rpm Drives Welcome)


I really don't expect anyone to help me out, but I thought i'd try and ask in case someone really wanted to help out, and knows what its like to be a 17 year old kid who has friends with great computers and misses out on all the new games. I don't have an X-BOX, Playstation 2, or Gamecube (Well, my brother has a GC im not allowed to use). So if your feeling nice, i'd like to hear from you. There are many ways of contacting me:

I've been working since I was 13 (I'm also 17 now) and my parents don't tell me I can't buy anything because it's money I earned (although not all parents are like that.)

Do yourself a favor and buy an xbox. It'll be cheaper and easier for you.

I have a job, i've had a job since I was 12. I have a bank account, i've had a bank account since I was 5. The point being, i'm not allowed to spend the money I earn. My parents say it goes towards my University savings. If I buy anything else, they say they will start charging me rent.

Look guys, I just asked for a favor from anyone who would like to. I don't need people telling me "Get a job" or "Use e-bay". I obviously have done both but neither are options anymore. You might have to be 18, but sell Plasma. You can probably do it twice a month.

I just looked at the Canadian blood bank and you only have to be 17.

You could also sell your stem cells maybe. I noticed that Canada has a Cord Blood Bank for donating umbilical cords.

Be a test subject in some sort of viagra alternative ($$$), donate your sperm (tons of it) and when the the drug turns out to kill people sell your body as a cadaver. Thats good for about 500 bucks canadian (~$10.00 U.S.)

Tried that. People don't trust 17 year olds. Even if I didn't mention my name, my internet is constantly shut off via my dad's hub. I can go weeks at a time with no access, so maintaining clients would be impossible.
