OKay, lately on my computer I keep getting these Delayed Write Failed errors on my HD when I tried to download stuff, or when I tried to clean up my recycle bin. Here is what it says exactly.

"Windows was unable to save all the data for the file \device\HarddiskVolume2\Recycled\desktop.ini. The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection. Please try to save this file elsewhere."

I was wondering before I start using another hard drive/location to download stuff if I can fix this error or if anyone knows what is wrong with the hd. It only happens once in awhile too. If I download about 5 files, 2 of them would have this error popping up on me. The HD is an IBM 40g 7200rpm 2mb. Thanx in advance for your help.

I have also seen this error and suspect that it is caused by EMI or faulty 80pin IDE cables.

I have two IBM 30 gig HD's in a raid 0 setup. Everytime I opened the case and did something inside... When I rebooted the raid array would fail. I would go back in the case and mess around and it would work again. The problem kept ketting worse. At the end I started getting these delayed write failed errors. I traced the problem to one of my hard drives having some kind of bad connection on the connector pins. I was able to save some of the data just in time. Don't know if this helps but that was my exp.
