I'm not really going for top of the line here, I just need something that is good and cheap. Right now I'm using onboard sound(ECS k7s5apro mobo) so I think it's about time to get a decent sound card.

Hopefully it's not asking for much, but I'm only willing to spend $50, $60 being the Max. Remember I'm also looking for some decent headphones.

I would go for the Terratec Aureon 5.1 Fun which is about the same price but better IMHO.

I love my Delta 60HP 7000 RPM fan that puts out more dB then CFM

I found one at <A HREF="http://www.jdsound.com/store/product1.asp?SID=2&Product_ID=1213" target="_new">JDSound</A> for $49.00, which leaves $11.00 for headphones following his $60.00 budget. BTW, I agree with your humble opinion, the Aureon has better features and sound.

I also found a cheaper SBLive! at <A HREF="http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Category/category_slc.asp?CatId=107" target="_new">TigerDirect</A> - $29.99

If you go with the cheaper Koss TD61 (which are still excellent) for $19.99 with the Aureon $49.00 total = $68.99

SBLive! + Koss TD61 = $49.98

What the other guys said is about right.

If you could get your budget up a little more it'd help ya out alot. Its to bad you couldnt get your hands on an audigy 1 or audigy 2 oem (about $60) and get a good pair of sennheisers.. those are expensive but worth it if you are going to be using them alot.

Athlon 1700+, Epox 8RDA (NForce2), Maxtor Diamondmax Plus 9 80GB 8MB cache, 2x256mb Crucial PC2100 in Dual DDR, Geforce 3, Audigy, Z560s, MX500
