The RNP is a good preamp.

And, because it's a good preamp, you can buy it now, and sell it a few
years down the road and get most of your money back.

That's the thing about good equipment. When you _do_ want to upgrade,
you can get your money back selling it used. When you buy typical junk
from the local music store, the value drops in half when you take it
out the door.

Buy the Schoeps first. Then, if you have any money left, worry about
outboard preamps. That's gonna give you the most bang for your buck.
It will be better into a better preamp, but the difference from Oktavia
to Schoeps is gonna be WAY bigger than the difference from Mackie pre to
Grace.
