can I use DDR 333 memory on athlon 2100+, if so, is the overall performance going to be better than athlon 2100+ with DDR 266 memory.

what is the difference between Front side bus speed and Memory bus speed. Also, some of Pentium 4 (e.g. 2.4G) has the Front side bus like 4X133 mhz and memory clock 133 mhz, what does it mean, is it DDR or something else.

thanx in advance

If running the 333 memory at 266 FSB then there will be no noticable difference. 40mph in 3rd gear or 4th gear is no faster. It's capable of more, but you have to increase the mobo FSB to get the benifits.

Perhaps the FAQ explains a little? Not read it in a while.

FSB is the base speed in MHz at which data moves in the mobo & chipset. Usually the memory speed is constant, but in some cases you can have (FSB/MEM)100/133, 100/100, 133/133 or 133/100 depending on the mobo settings to suit the memory and CPU in use. These particular settings are more common in DDR setups. QDR is as you said. 4 x FSB.

Memory: (FSB / DDR / QDR / PC rating)

100 / 200 / 400 / PC1600
133 / 266 / 533 / PC2100
150 / 300 / 600 / PC2400
166 / 333 / 666 / PC2700
183 / 366 / 733 / PC3000 (not sure about that one)
200 / 400 / 800 / PC3200
216 / 433 / 866 / PC3500
233 / 466 / 933 / PC3700
250 / 500 / 1000 / PC4000

That's my best guess. I realise that QDR isn't applicable in some earlier case of DDR, but it stil makes sense.
