Media player and web pages

Is there a way to stop the media player from showing up on the left side of your browser if you click on a wav file on a web page ?

I believe that you can adjust this under the Multimedia column in the browser Tools\Internet Options\Advanced.

Control Panel > Internet Options > Advanced tab > Multimedia section
<b>Check</b> "Don't display online media content in the media bar"

Hey, Bryan ... long time, no see!

Yeah, I've been busy at work, and doing some other things, like building a new system for myself, and doing a little gaming. I had to cut back on the online support because I've got carpal tunnel syndrome in both wrists, which hampers my typing, among other things. I'd rather type less than have endoscopic surgery, so occasionally I need to take a break. But I'm still here, lurking around, if nothing else! LOL!

I hope that you are doing well, too. I've seen you working hard at answering some posts, and you've been doing a really good job helping folks out. Way to go, dude!

Man, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome...that's bad. Can you PM me some suggestions to prevent this? I have a bad feeling I'm on too long for certain periods of time...

At least you got a new system and having fun with some games. I've been trying to get better at Counter-Strike lately. I'll be doing more so now that finals are over.

Anyway, you know I'm always trying to help. I'm trying to be your little sub (if that's even possible). :lol:

That stinks, sorry to hear about the Carpal Tunnel, especially both wrist. I tried typing a few times and it seems to hurt right away. I'm sort of a two-four figure pocker.

That's a nice rig you build there, don't they support pictures. I think it would be cool if we could post pictures of our rigs here.

Sorry, but that doesn't do it. I am using IE 6. It's a pain to have that damn bar shrink my browser every time.

Try clearing the checkbox for "Play sounds in web pages" in the Multimedia section. After doing this, the next time you click a link like this, you should see a box pop up asking you about your preferences. Or go edit the file type manually, and reassociate the file with another device, like the Sound Recorder (sndrec32.exe) or a software player like Winamp. File types are listed in Windows Explorer under Tools\Folder Options\File Types.

No repetitive motion of any kind.

Vitamin B

Ice packs

Wrist and hand braces, especially in the evening, and while you are asleep.

Diuretics, and anti-inflammatory medications.

Don't be genetically-predisposed to getting it, and avoid being a woman. They are more prone to carpal tunnel than men.
