I want to put a new system together with a P4 2.4C and ABIT IS7 board and I was wondering what is the best memory to get. I was looking at Corsair TWINX512-3200C2 2x256MB XMS sticks at 2-3-3-6-T1 for $120. Would this be OK, even if I decide to OC the CPU down the line? If you guys have any suggestion on any brand of memory I appreciate it. Thanks.

I have exacly that system, but after I read the review here at THG about the boards (after I got the computer of course...) I wish i would've taken MSI NEO 2 which isn't a lot more expensive (if at all, I don't know the exact pricings)

Coppermine, Banias, Opteron, Prescott, Barton... How 'bout investing less in the CPU and more in its name?

Note that IS7 is a name if a series, in that series are: IS7-G, IS7-E, IS7-M and, to confuse us, a board named IS7. They all vary in their features. All except the IS7-G have the intel 865PE chipset, the IS7-G has the intel 865G chipset.

THanks for the comments guys, but I'm having doubts with going with the IS7 since I heard that there is a problem with the mic input of the boards and the only way to fix it is to RMA it back to ABIT. That's is not good, so I might just go with an ASUS P4P800 instead. BTW I was looking at the IS7-E at $98, it's a steal if it wasn't for the mic issue. The difference between the IS7 and IS7-E is that the IS7 has FireWire and the E doesn't, but I already have a firewire card and thought I'd say some money and go with the E. I guess I'm gonna have to pay $20 extra and go with ASUS.
