I have a western digital 80gb, 2mb cache harddisc and a maxtor 80gb,8mb cache harddisc. My motherboard is gigabyte i845. My harddiscs have been so slow now, just 8000kb/s, and it should have 25000kb/s in sisoftsandra 2003. What's wrong with my harddis or motherboard?

Is DMA enabled inside the BIOS and in the OS? Have you installed the latest Intel chipset drivers?

I love my Delta 60HP 7000 RPM fan that puts out more dB then CFM

Just set Auto in BIOS. In Windows, be sure DMA is still enabled after restarting.

 Good or Bad have no meaning at all, depends on what your point of view is.

I think i find the problem. It's one of my harddisk ( western digital 80gb 2 mb cahce), that harddisk is stupid. After like 1 to 2 day, my computer will display unmountable_boot_volume. And i have to reinstall my computer again. What kind of problem can it be?
