do you have anything that can stress your CPU? for Freelancer and burning cd's, a 2400+ is MORE than sufficient.


actually i really cant think of many games that would really benifit from more than a 3000+ A64 (athlonxp 3200+ is slightly lower for game performance)

Ahhh MAN you had a ThunderBird 1GHz.........Wine So did I, but I built a system from spare parts and mailed it to a friend in Texas he uses dual 56K modems Shotgun style and plays Day Of Defeat. That Thunderbird is still kicken Ass.

Well my 3200+ still provides me with 100fps online in multiplayer and on average I win every map for flag points and I have the most kills per match!!

I seldom if ever lose connection to a game server and that says tons as guys drop like flies all the time and have to reconnect even with their High Speed connections.

CPU handles all Network settings from CPU throughput to all it can eat, it simply will not drown out even under the worst connection problems.

I see the game server have a hic-up and all the Intel guys drop out of the server to their desktops and have to re-boot and rejoin the server and they are pissed off trust me and there is Hawk still in the server smelling like Roses. I still have all my game points and flag caps

All they have left is Intel.........roflol

Day Of Defeat!! It is not the game that matters in this case because the hosting is provided through the STEAM network and they route bandwidth from servers to players.

They have an imbedded system of packet sharing so all players in the game server end up with as close a match in latency as the guy on the slowest connection.

This of course is Piracy but we high speed players cant do anything about it. I don't get mad about it I simply share my $120.00 bucks a month T.V/Internet cable bill with all the porn stars out on the internet that game and use free dial up!!

There should be a law. In fact Dial-Up should be outlawed any place DSL or Cable is provided. The boys in the back woods cant help the fact they cant purchase the faster stuff.

What's the name of your server ? or are you simply making a game on your own P.C ?

If you are it will not show up in the Steam sever list. If you are connecting to a game through your own server linked to Steam and you have a 0 ping then you would show as a BOT only bots have zero latency.

No Auby PhukFace would have zero latency if he was hosting a game through his OWN computer as he said he had.

If he was running a server connected to the Steam network it would have to be outside his house, he would have at least a small ping perhaps 5 to 25 if the server was in his hood.

That is why I asked him for HIS servers IP address. I already know the Steam servers port number. :27015
