OK So I take my box in to my local computer store let them try to make DDR RAM work in it. I had tried it myself I knew they couldn't do it, but they did say they would replace the board if they couldn't and they couldn't. So they offered me instore credit towards a new board because they don't carry the K7S5A any more. I told them I'd do it on pay day. Then they tell me ya know DDR doesn't make that much difference speed wise. We've tried it in the boards that can run both just to see. We ran a bunch of bench marks, 3DMark is one of them, and the diference is neglegable. I guess the smoke in the air and the crack pipe on the desk should have been the first clue I definatly had not come to the right place.

With similar amount of memory, DDR is any day better than SDRAM. Even DDR266 wud beat PC133.

I hate scottchen.
Scottchen's sig: I could only overclock my Barton 2500+ to 2645mhz. My Radeon 9700pro core/mem speed won't go above 410/720.

Maybe what he said was partially true for this board. A board thats not well optimised for DDR might run only a little bit faster then SDR.

I realised after i posted that it was a possibility. So i checked and i found that K7S5A supports DDR333 memory. SO he shud be better off with DDR RAM.
