Can anyone tell me what the best raid controllers are. I have heard of highpoint and promise but the ATA133 IDE versions are expensive.

I think that the best raid controller available is LsiLogic (Mylex) MegaRAID SCSI 320-4X but I think that you're looking for an IDE solution so look for FastTrak100 TX2 if you can get one cheap (like on ebay). I know Tom's Hardware as already done a review of some IDE raid controller. The best for budget category was : Dawicontrol DC-100 Raid (55$ us).

Well I've decided on th highpoint ATA133. Have to fork out 70 bucks for it. But the IC7 is only 137. So thats 207. still cheaper than the gigabyte 8KNXP but with better o/cing. Only missing the 3 phase power. I have never heard that it makes any diff anyways.
