Tom's gone soft?

I have been an avid reader of Tom's hardware for a number of years. I would even go so far to say that I would almost always check THG before buying any major computer article, But somehow the site has gone off the boil. There seems to have been a shift towards the "corporate" user as a opposed to the home user. There are still a few articles aimed at gamers but I find less and less relevent and begin to turn to Anandtech. What do you think?

No way, compared to Anandtech toms site is for the corp. user who occationally goes home an games.

Anandtech puts out like a 2:1 article ratio on tom. 90% of what they put out is directly for the enthusiast. Where as what little tom puts out....50% of it is for the enthusiast.

It's almost a 4:1. I like toms articles and i still read them. But Anandtech is like my sexy mistress who does all the naughty things that Tom's wont do.

I like shorter articles, and i like how with toms i can skip what i dont want to read. but the sheer volmue is way down.

Believe me , yours can't be noisier then mine ha ha . You can't watch TV or sleep when mines on . Thats why i am switching fans . I got it cranked up to 3.7 gigs , so i'll have to bring it back down to 3.2 or something . Next one i build i will not build it with overclocking in mind . Will consintrate on quiteness as the goal .

I just run the stk. fan that came with my 2500... I'm running it at 3200 speed though... [shrug]

I only have one thats loud , it's a tornato ( biggest and badest you can get ) on the cpu ( gotta have lots of air in summer time to get cooling for more gigs ) . The one i will put on is a panaflow which is a big fan but turns at a slower rate which equals less noise with resonable cooling . In the winter time it's better but the outside air is cooler . T.T. i don't need 3.7 or 3.8 gigs anyway , i just do it far fun . Both of them are bigger then normal and i have to put them on with plastic snap ties . It's usually the cpu fan that causes all the noise , case fans usually turn a lot slower .... Tornatos pump out twice as much air as the rest ....but....extreamly loud .

Ahhh did i tell you my system is got lights to ( seen RCs post ) . Yep looks like a Veges whorehouse . Two cold cathoid tubes , 4 lited case fans , lited video card fan , then i got a couple extras thrown in to boot . Blue , purple , red . Like i said , a Vegus whorehouse ha ha ha . O ya i got a couple little ones on the outside also .

I went to bed earlier last night , was up when the red head was sashaing her bottom in front of Phuky ( tryin to get hurricane Steff up to a grade 5 ) , but went to bed after that . I seen Aubbie was even on last night . Got run out of his house by a gaggle of women ha ha .

I was up kinda late last night, myself...

I know the A64 will have better boards, but I'm banging the hell out of my system on the games I'm playing.. Should get a new vid card, that would help...

My Son's vid card cooked. Best Buy exchanged it for a 6800.. It's pretty sweet. He's going to exchange it for the 6800 GT when BB gets them...

That MOBO still isn't right on his machine. We RMAed it once.. So this time were going to replace it. Too bad he can't afford to go to A64.. Seems a waste to buy a XP board now..
