I suppose this is directed to the owner of Killer Notebooks as well as those who have had experience with the Executioner notebook.
My Inspiron 9300 is on its last leg and I'm in dire need of a replacement. I don't have a desktop, so this notebook needs to be the workhorse for everything I do.
I've heard a lot of excellent things about the Executioner line and I think this is what I need. The only problem is, I'm not sure if I need to make any changes to the default configuration.
Just to give you an idea of what I'd like to do: I'd like to be able to play games like Oblivion and Battlefield 2142 on the highest settings without any stuttering frames.
I know this is a very juvenile way to explain things, but I have no other way to explain it and I'm very unclear on what 3DMark scores mean. If you need any more information from me that will help you make a better suggestion, please don't hesitate to ask!
I have never used an Executioner, but I have heard good things. In order for us to really make a good recommendation, it would be nice to know:
1.) Your budget
2.) How important size/weight are to you
3.) What kinds of upgrades you plan to do over the machine's service life.
Being a notebook builder, I hope I can help you make a good decision on your next machine!
Well, my budget would be $3,000. Size and weight aren't that big of an issue. As long as it's not more than 15 lbs and can fit in a properly-cushioned case, I'm good with it. I would like it to be as upgradeable as possible.
Just food for thought, Ponder these questions as they could help you in your search. What Notebook should I buy FORM I wish toms had a sticky of something like this. Since you have such a huge budget and you want upgradeable I can instantly think of what would be awesome IMO.. that would be something like this monster But you have many options to consider out there. See if you can fill in some more details and perhaps we here at THG can narrow down some good choices that fit you. good luck -jimy
Awesome! I'm pretty set on buying an Executioner myself real soon.
Mark - aka - Mr.KillerNotebooks himself has answered tons of questions that I've had and in a timely manner.
I'm sure he would work with you to get whatever configurations you need set up.
From what I understand the Executioner is pretty upgradeable. I had the same question and Mark said "The Executioner is extremely versatile with the GPU being on it's own card, it can take anywhere from a x1600, 7800 GTX, 7900 GTX 256 or 512 Mb and 7950GTX. Depending on the config of the next gen of cards, it may be upgradable
to that."
