Ok of course ATA133 is supposed to be faster but will spec this actually make a real difference? Cuz 133MB/s is the maximum but does it actually reach that speed?

As for the brands, of course Maxtor is also a contender but for arguments sake that we only have these to options. These are both 120GB w/ 8MB buffer.

Actually with the 8Mb cache, an ATA133 would definitely be the way to go, but seeing as how Maxtor has had ATA133 drives on the market now for about a year and a half, with time to get the bugs out of the drives, and Samsung is just breaking into it with ATA133, I'd go with the Maxtor ATA133 with the 8Mb cache.

It does not make a single difference... even with the enlarged cache the drive will never hit 100 MB/s at all, let alone 133 MB/s.

Even more interesting: UDMA133 isn't an official standard.

I love my Delta 60HP 7000 RPM fan that puts out more dB then CFM
