I'm planning on building an OC'ing system (Abit NF7-S, Barton XP 2800+ [333]) and I have a few questions as to DDR purchases: (note that I'm getting DDR400 on a 333FSB system in hopes that I can underclock the memory but tighten my timings)

Would it be better to get:
1. 1GB (2x512) generic dual-channel set (2-6-3-3-2)
- or -
2. 512MB (2x256) of brand-name (Crucial, Corsair, etc.)

Keep in mind I plan to be overclocking....

Thanks!

Even though it's just 512 MB?

I guess the real question is:
Is 512 MB RAM going to be good for another 4-5 years? (I'm not planning on upgrading)

for overclocking pc 3500 is better... for performance...i really can't say...1gb of mem does not help that much so i guess overclocking would outweight any performance gain from more memory...

So easy to fry yet tastes so good...
