Windows 8 start problem

Yesterday my computer blue screen on me. I restarted it a couple times and a repair came up I did it and was on my computer. Today I restarted for a avast update and it gets to the log in screen I type my pass in and black screens. I cant get into windows or do anything. When I try to go in safe mode my computer just blinks.

How can I get to advance repairs from start up so I can do a refresh or restore. Keep in mind I cannot go into windows. Is there a way to get to the system restore or refresh from boot?

This would have been a very simple task had you performed a backup image of your system (OS) drive using the Windows back-up.
You would have just pop in the Windows DVD, selected repair, then repair using image file.

I got a windows 8 disc I put it in and the sob doesnt show up. This is making me angry
