i have the following problem (probably a silly one for anyone knowledgable out there):

- i have 2 HD - and old one and a newer better one. current config is: old one is master and new one is slave

- i used to have windows xp on the old one but did a fresh reinstall on the new one. everything works perfectly

- now i want to make the new drive master to get better performance. however when i tried to boot the comp with the new settings i got the message "unable to load OS", or something like that

What am i missing?

thanks!

When you did the fresh install was the new hard drive still set as the slave? If so thats your porblem. Set the new drive to master and old to slave, make sure on correct connections, and reinstall the os on the new hard drive.
If anyone has a better idea im open minded.
