Hello,

I was planning on getting a ABIT IS7,Intel 865PE with a Intel Pentium 4 / 2.4CGHz cpu from newegg. I wanted to know what ram (preferably from newegg) would you recommend. I would like to do some overclocking. A 512MB and a gig recommendation would be appreciated.

Thanks!

If you want to overclock the memory, consider PC3500, 3700, and 4000 from Corsair. If you want the best timings, consider the PC3200LL TwinX packs from Corsair. I've seen some evidence that these are slightly better than their single pack siblings, the probably undergo a bit more testing.

I think the cheapest would be the OCZ PC3500 256MB for $65 each. You would need 2. Free shipping on that too. They also have PC3700 Buffalo 256MB for i think 60+4 shipping. Then again you probably wont get speeds that high and the OCZ has sexy ramsinks =) But really OCZ is more of a recognized brand (kinda)

Intel P4 2.4C @ ???, ABIT IS7, Stock Intel HSF, 2x Kingston HyperX PC3000 256MB, Radeon 9700Pro
