It really depends on the condition. I had an MRX in that
configuration, and I really was amazed at how big it made every mic I
plugged into it sound, nice "british eq" that I like to subtractive
eqing too. But they are getting on in age these days and like
everything analog will doubtless develop some maintanance issues. I
sold mine for $1600 IIRC and it was in fairly decent shape, but it is a
console worth investing in as a tracking console I think.
The monitor outs and the main outs sounded kinda different on mine.
