Nice things in general, but my basic rule is any external hdd enclosure, I buy seperate and build myself. Pre-made ones are usually way overpriced.

That last 6 in 1 key thing seems very nice though. Would have been perfect for my boy scout days, but it can also work for my college days now... heh...

I'm pretty impressed with this list. Very diverse, and plenty of non-geek items too. I liked that you included software as well.

I don't know what your intent is in these articles, but I'd like to see a similar items/alternatives list for each product. Some have brief references already, but a list of links would be great as I've never looked into a lot of these products and would love to know what else is available.

Aside from that, great work and keep it up.

BTW, I bought one of those fingerprint scanners for my dad earlier in the year and he's really enjoying it.

Barry,

I've noticed the Mac Mini was shown on the top banner of each of the articles and yet did not see it anywhere. Surely you guys aren't trying to mislead people with graphics that don't pertain to the content?!

I mean, I could care less if it wasn't reviewed on the entire TG site, but the fact it was shown in the main image representing the article serie is rather misleading. Frankly I am surprised no Apple rep has given you a "no no no!" warning.

No offense or anything, really. Just I'd expect more out of the editors than using others' commercial property if not intended to be discussed or presented in the article itself.

Just love the list! Great selections from all types of gear and for all levels of expertise! I just want to know a few things...

1. Is Sarah married ? :)

2. Where has she been all my life? 25 years hanging around this rock and I've never seen her anywhere !!!

Anyone know how does Perfect Disk compare to Diskkeeper in keep the disk defragged and optimized?

I've been using diskkeeper 9 for years and its kept my machines speedy. But since there are new versions out now and I've got new computers coming in to be built I want to know if anything is better for keeping them setup.

"Oh I love you, Oh I wanna marry you" No wonder geeks have a bad rap. You remind me of the Comic Book guy from the Simpsons.
"Her mouth says no no, but her bod says yes yes" GROSS

Oh and special thanks to Toms hardware for turning their articles into an E3 booth babe show. Next time you should get Asia Carrera in here since she REALLY does use her comp for something other than MySpace.

No, I'm not married! And I've been in Virginia, and now, Los Angeles. :)

Oh, come on now, I never said ANY of that... you took it WAY too far.

Never been to E3, so I googled Asia Carrera, who is a porn star it seems. Tom's Elf (Sarah) gets WAY more brownie points for having what appears to be a normal job and is also gorgeous. Who ever said a great looking woman with stability isn't sexy?

And geek? Who (on this forum) dares to call another forum poster a geek? :(

And to SarahTGP, CONGRATS on being a Southern girl !! I remain in the south, nothing so glamorous as LA living, but the people are nice and traffic is light.

I though Tom's was in Germany or something, do they have offices all over or what?

Just bustin some chops. Nothin to serious here. So please accept my apology And H-A, LA is not glamorous at all. If you call smoggy, polluted, overcrowded, glamorous then maybe it is. Then Detroit is paradise by that line of reasoning. Hollywood is not LA, and even that place is nasty. Take a walk on the "Walk of Fame" Bums everwhere.
Anyhow, great gear, okay article, and...

Actually LIVING in LA has its drawbacks for sure... you forgot to mention property prices. But the IDEA of living in LA invites the notion of a glamorous life full of excitement and parties and wonderful celebrities nudging up to normal people on the street, oh so romantic and beautiful!!!

Except there are about 14 million people in Southern California that aren't celebrities and can't much afford to live there :D

I personally loved California the few times I've been out there... somewhat due to its proximity to Tijuana, but college was here and my friends are here, and that all too important JOB at Wal-Mart (cushy corporate, I swear) are here.

Once those stock options kick in, who knows ?

Why americans are so in love with blackberries? They suck. It has a really average screen and it isnt even 3g. Does it even have a touch screen(which is essential for any business oriented device IMO)? It's far inferior to sony ericsson "p" series. Compare this blackberry with p990 for example.
