I have this one year old toshiba cheapo laptop i bought last year on black friday. I bought a high capacity battery for it and it worked for about a year. a couple of weeks ago it mysteriously stopped charging and i figured it died. I just got another one but it doesn't charge either. I have been using a compaq charger with the same voltage but 3.16 amps instead of the reccomended 3.42 amps. Could this be the reason why my batteries won't charge? the battery used to charge just fine with this adapter. The computer recognizes the battery and it also runs fine off the adapter, but it won't charge the battery. Could it be the adapter, or more likely something with the motherboard related to the ac plug? could be something with software? any ideas and if its the motherboard how much would it cost to fix approx. please help me out i've already wasted 70$ on a new battery. I can't find the real ac adapter otherwise i would try it out.
