Very impressive with the Xerox phaser 1235 color laser printer BUT the high cost in the consumable items especially the printer default the user to change the drum after the 5000/10000 pages printed else it won't work. Is there a way that can by pass to change a new drum although the drum still in good condition ? I heard sometime ago that Epson have the same similiarity to farce the user to change the ink catridges after certain pages and it can be by pass by download a software to reused the ink catridegs again ! Is that true ?

Thanks

I don't see how it would have any memory on the drum to see it's age or how much use it has had. I would think it would be like projectors where they have a programmed lifespan for the bulb, filters, etc that can be reset in their menu. There must be a timer reset for the drum somewhere in it's menus.
