Right now I just got a new toshiba m115 which is actually super nice other thant he fact it has an integrated graphics card. Is it possible to add one after the fact or am I stuck at this point? I mean it's mostly used for work but I'd like it if I could play World of Warcraft occasionally which I'm afraid won't be possible without the gpu. It has 2 gigs of ddr2 memory though and a 1.8ghz duo core 2 processor. So it's only got the gpu as the real weakness.

The integrated GPU is not a card, it is "integrated" into the motherboard. It is most likely that it does not support PCI-E.

So when you build your own laptop option on a website those are PCI-E gpus? I didn't know they used the same type of graphics port as on a pc. So basically I'm stuck with integrated graphics? THat's weak.

The slots are different from desktops and laptops. They are just reffered to as a PCI-E slot. So basicaly laptops have a moble version of desktops PCI-E slot

So I still feel a little lost. Am I hosed? The boards non upgradeable? How junk is the integrated graphics? If it can run basic games I'd be happy. I just want it to be able to run BF2142 and WoW? Is it possible to overclock the onboard gpu or the cpu?

im sorry to say it but you are stuck from this point. there is now way to upgrade your graphics. even high end laptop graphics have a hard time running BF2142. mobile graphics come at a high cost.

Alright well no big deal I guess. I can run WoW and I'm gonna try Oblivion on LOW settings latter. Hope all runs well. Run WoW without a hitch so that's the best part.
