hi guys, I'm looking at buying this laptop Acer Aspire 5051AWXMi, I'm thinking of buying it from laptopsdirect.co.uk anyone used them before? Are they ok, they charge £35 for a pre delivery inspection, which seems a bit of a con?

Also do you think that is a worthwhile laptop. its under 400quid, and I want to use it for basic stuff, email, internet, music, some movies, some light game work, etc...

thnks

hiya,

i have used laptops direct on several occasions, and they are now the only online PC retailer i use, because i have always been impressed with their service, offering both low prices and good quality customer service. I once had a problem processing my order online and i was promptly contacted and the problem was resolved quickly and efficiantly. I bought a entry level acer laptop about 18 months ago to take to uni with me, i use it every day for basic things like email, downloading music, uni work, internet etc and i've never had a problem with it so i would definately recommend an acer laptop.

hope that helps you

DO NOT BUY FROM LAPTOPS DIRECT !! The customer service is without doubt the worst I have ever experienced. They delivered 3 weeks late after the website stated that they had 20 in stock. Then, when there was a fault, they have refused to honour the extended three year warranty my 13 year old son bought on a Fujitsu Siemens laptop. Laptops Direct believe that laptops are not designed to be unplugged therefore the faulty power socket on the motherboard must be my sons fault. I am seeking redress through the courts and trading standards are investigating this company. Buy from Laptops Direct at you peril!!
