hey, i have a geforce 3, win 98 se, 256 ram, and recently installed Dx 8.1. I have all the updated Nvidia drivers also. Problem is with direct 3d, it doesn't even seem to detect it. No program requiring D3d will run and even the D3d test in the Dxdiag file won't work... any help is greatly appreciated!

Make double sure you installed DirectX 8.1 for Win98 and not Win2k or WinXP.
