okay, i just read up a few posts and read about using a behringer ada8000 as
a lightpipe convertor, sounds like a good idea to me!
that gives me 16... who knows how to get another 8? ;-)

Whatever you do I'd suggest against using and M-Audio device in
conjunction w/ PT and Digi equipment. As of PT 6.2.something they don't
play together nicely. Not sure if that's still the case, but you'd
probably be safer with more Digi gear or hammerfall or MOTU or
something. Good luck!

Dunno about another 8, but that ADA8000 doesn't sound very good, IMO.
The Alesis (if you can believe it) one (AI3?) sounds quite a bit better.

My research led me to the Tango 24... I found a couple informal shootouts
between it and the AI3 and other 8-ch converters and in each case it did
well, so I bought one. It sounds as good as the stock 002 LE converters :-\
