Is there way to communicate easily with real Polysix or Wavestation
and VSTi ones?
We just happen to own real ones and it would be nice to use Polysix tape
in/out
feature for sounds and probably easier one with wavestation too (midi)...
if not then upgrade should make this ... think just record your sound to
wav file
and play it into Polysix.

I'm not sure what you're asking. You mean to transmit the patch that the VST
Polysix is playing to your realy Polysix or vice-versa? Apparently the
Wavestation VST beta had this capability (via MIDI sysex) but has apparently
been removed in the final release.

If you're asking can you use the tape in/out and just record the audio
(patch data) to and from your DAW (instead of tape) I would think so.
I would like to see both Hardware Polysix and Hardwre Wavestation to
communicate with Software versions (VSTi's) of these two.
Software Polysix would be nice to produce presets that could be saved to
real one.
Feature could be called like "export preset as audiofile" and why not
"import preset from audiofile"
With wavestation things are a lot easier because of MIDI. But is it
possible to make presets with Wavestation VSTi so our Wavestation EX
understands it?

The Tape In/Out interface on the hardware synth transfers data files that
happen to be in audio format. It's a tricky procedure, requires a lot of
fiddling with levels. Also, I'm not sure if it deals with single presets.
It's an interesting idea, though.

Jukka, apparently the beta version of the Wavestation VST did have the
capability of transferring presets from the hardware version to the software
version and vice-versa. But it was removed before the commercial release for
some reason. Maybe they will restore this feature in the future. As far as
storing "presets as audiofile" you should be able to connect the Tape In/Out
of your synth to the audio inputs/outputs of your DAW and "dump" them into a
file that way for storage and retrieval (unless I'm misunderstanding
something). How much control you have and whether you can do it on a patch
level I don't know because I'm not that familiar with the Polysix. I'd
recommend you repost this question on rec.music.makers.synth

Its possible that audio dumb for presets is for whole preset libarary but
this isnt a problem..
