Could anyone tell me how to find the speed of the HDD in my notebook computer (preferebly not involving removing it from the system). I know the easy way...check the manufacture's site for specs, but I have a discripancy, two different reliable sources say different things (one says 4200 rpm, one says 5400 rpm). Insights anyone?

there is no way a software tool can read teh rpm speed of your hdd it can however identify the exact version of your harddrive model no etc. With this info it sould be easy finding the correct info on the manufacurers site.
