I wonder if anyone has any experience with the Rolls RS79b Tuner, and how
satisfied they are with its performance, especially its capability to pull
in FM stations.

I tried it, and it was better than boom-box quality. Not great sensitivity or
great selectivity, but it was just fine for a typical PA system install
where you want to get a few local stations. I installed a couple of them
as air monitors to feed the distributed sound systems at a couple local
radio stations, and a friend of mine uses one of them at a sculpture garden
in Washington DC, to put broadcasts of local events through the sound
system in the garden.
It ain't no McKay Dymek, that's for sure. But it's fine for average
installed sound use. If you need a DX machine, look elsewhere.

i have several in use both fixed and mobile applications.
the older ones use lamps for display backlighting.
the newest ones have switched to LEDs for backlighting.
the XLR line level outputs are quite hand for pro installs. the RCA outs are
handy for unbalanced feeds
