Seeing as there are a number of ADAT threads being spun here at the
moment, let me add one more...

Last week I was forced to dig out my Fostex RD-8 from Deep Storage to
transfer some old tapes. Turn machine on, insert tape, hit play, ...and
the rotating head assembly revs up to light speed. Way faster than it
should be spinning. The clock source/rate is set correctly, but still it
seems like there is no servo-lock on the heads. Does this ring any
bells? This machine has low hours (<400), and has otherwise been babied.

Has anyone else experienced this?
