Hi all,

I'm looking at buying a laptop soon and have come across these:

One is ASUS G1 and the other is F3JP. The main difference is the GPU. (Go7700 vs X1700)

I intend to do gaming of the likes of FEAR, HL2, FarCry, etc. Will the X1700 in the F3JP suffice?

Please let me know your thoughts and if you have any other suggested laptops from other manufacturer's to consider (under ~$1800USD).

Either of those cards should play the games you want. For those prices and specs, you won't find much better deals. I would choose the G1 because I like the way it looks, but the F3 will do fine.

Newegg used to have that F3jp for 1299.. guess it went back up.. You can get the G1 for less also. Xoticpc has it for 1799 for instance. For your needs, I would get the G1 unless the F3jp drops back down

I checked out K/N web site. You can order his 15.4 Wakizachi. For less than the Asus. I priced it with the 100 gig HD. That is 7200 not 5400. I'm sure he can give you a better vid card then the X1600 listed.
