I got to claim "pro" status when my recording revenues exceeded my computer
programming revenues one quarter. Now I've achieved second level status.
I was just undercut for a recording gig for the first time.
When I started, I charged next to nothing for my services, and my clients
got what they paid for. Now I feel justified in charging near-market
prices for my services, feeling that I offer above-market performance in
some categories with amateurish failings in others.
But it still feels odd to learn that a client chose someone else to record
their concert because they couldn't afford me. Yes, I need to get over
that and feel pleased. I will--later.
I bought a copy of the CD out of curiosity and because I liked the concert.
The recording was OK, but I could have done better.
[Don't take this post too seriously. While true, it's all tongue-in-cheek]

Congrats! You've finally figured out how to set your prices so you
won't have too much work but won't lose income either.

I sometimes like to quote Mr Dorsey when someone tells me that they
found someone else who will do it for less---
"You can always find someone who will do an even worse job for even less
money" (paraprased, really).
