Generally memory companies provide similar products for laptops as they do for desktops, so brand usually doesn't matter when going with large names.
As far as MXM goes, this is nVidia technology. It refers to Mobile Express Modules. It's basically the PCI X16 slot of a desktop in laptop form. More info can be found here: nVidia MXM So in other words, any laptop with a nVidia go graphics card uses this technology.
If you were talking about buying the card itself then: notebook GPUs usually can't be bought from stores like Newegg so they must be bought from manufacturers and usually come with a notebook only.
Bummer that MXM cards are not for sale separately. Was planning on getting the Asus Z84Jp and was hoping that I could replace the stock 7600, not the greatest card but it's not bad.
