hello, I am planning on upgrading my system to ivy bridge with a new cpu, mobo, and ram. If i have windows 7 home premium installed on my current system and i upgrade these core components, will i need to purchase a new copy of windows or could i use my existing one.

Under the licencing arrangements the answer is no if the licence is an OEM version. However, there have been many instances where activation has been approved for OEMs when it is a licence purchased by individual system builders using the telephone activation method. (As opposed to a volume licence from a major manufacturer). Worth a try?...
