I'm considering switching from Pro Tools to Deck. Does anyone know if
this program can "Save as" or export audio as an mp3? I have looked on
the Bias site, and found no info.
i don't recall, but you can download a fully functional demo that lets
you save and everything, so i would check that. why are you switching
from pro tools? I've only recently gotten into protools, and I really
only use it as a glorified tape machine, but i've have found the basic
functions very easy to use and the program isn't difficult to learn.
Deck's layout is similar to PT but one difference that stands out in my
experience is that Deck's mixing and routing functions don't allow for
as much as PT.

PT is okay, but I'm tired of Digidesign's business practice. Yes, it has
many fine features, perhaps more than Deck. But I don't need much of the
functionality anyway. They've just come out with a version that supports
M-Audio hardware (Since Digi now owns M-Audio), but they're not even
offering an upgrade for owners. One has to buy it all over again. Also,
I do not like *having* to attach my MBox to the computer before PT will
even work. If I've bought the hardware and software, I should be able to
use it as I wish. Sometimes it's not convenient or necessary to use the
MBox, especially if all I want to do is edit. Anyway, those are just a
few of my reasons.
