My Rig

Athlon 2500XP+ Barton FSB (Normally runs at 11x166 but overclocked to 10x200)
NF7 Mobo
Radeon 9800Pro
1024MB DDR400
Soundblaster Live 5.1
XP Pro

I have an LG DVD/CDRW Combo Unit.(Sorry don't have the Unit Model to hand)
The units always worked fine before.
Stuck a DVD in it and it just spins up then stops.
Tried several other DVD's to make sure not the Disc and still the same.
But it still recognises CD-roms and Burns ok.
Just the DVD side is'nt working.
I've tried uninstalling WINDVD and PowerDVD in case it's a Software issue'but had no luck.

Any ideas?

My dad had this same problem. It turned out it was one of those Windows XP security updates or just a normal update. The one thats like QXXXXXX X being numbers. He did a system restore to get rid of most them and it fixed it. If you dont have system restore available id suggest reinstalling windows.
