Santa Clara university student wins Tom's Hardware Guide's $10K PC
Brendan Duda, a mechanical engineering major at Santa Clara University, had been thinking about upgrading his old computer, but now he doesn't have to. Duda has won the Tom's Hardware Guide tenth-year anniversary computer which is valued at over $10,000 dollars. The massive computer with an equally massive 30" Apple Cinema display now resides in Duda's frat house room near the university. Read more

LG.Philips LCD held a ceremony today to mark the beginning of equipment installation for the first phase of its seventh-generation (7G) facility (P7), according to a company press release. Read more
Sony lets users upload music to the car stereo
At the SEMA auto show in Las Vegas, Sony introduced a new radio/CD player called the Giga Panel that can store music in internal memory. The player has one Gigabyte of flash memory and users can upload songs via a USB port in the front faceplate. It can also play ATRAC/3 songs (Sony's proprietary format) burned onto a CD. Read more
