Hi all,

Just bought Sony DRU510A and need help installing it.

This is the first time for me taking apart my PC so please bare with me.

I have 2 hard drives in Raid 0 and I don't know how to install this drive.

I currently have a Lite-on DVD rom and a NEC NR-7700a installed.

Any help is welcome : >

Thanks so much !

Guess a few questions are in order. I assume that the hard drives are on a seperate raid card. If so, then the Liteon and NEC are most likely the masters on IDE 1 and IDE 2. Is this the correct assumption? Please advise...once you reply...I am sure the thoughts and ideas will flow. You left the information a bit lacking.

Very simple and easy solution here. Just remove the existing DVD drive thats in the PC and replace it with your new DVD Writer. Just make sure that the jumper on the back of the drive is set in the same mode as the drive that you are replacing. Hook up all the cables and the new drive should operate the same way that the old drive did until you install the software for it.

Technically on the hardware level your system bios will see the new DVD burner as just another CD ROM so if you took one drive out, and replaced it with another (and made the jumper settings identical) the PC won't even know that a change has been made.
