M-Audio MicroTracker 2496 Update!

I just talked to Jared from Sweetwater who informed me that they got
some more information about the MicroTracker at a sales meeting w/
M-Audio this morning.

Still no word on the actual dimensions of the unit itself, but the box
it ships in is only 7.36" x 6.89" x 2.17" which means it is likely much
smaller than the R1....especially considering the boxed unit weighs a
little under 4 pounds, while the actual device weighs about 1 pound (I'm
guessing this is with batteries and CF). This also suggests that they
are ready to ship out.

The MSRP is $499.95, and SP is taking pre-orders @ $398.

I asked if the gain circuits were digitally controlled, but no word on
that yet....I'm afraid we'll have to wait till the scheduled September
release date to find out.

Has anybody heard anything more about the issues with phantom power and
SPDIF?
