When I did a clean install of XP on my HD i get the following message:

File\i386\halaacpi.dll could not.be.loaded
The error code is (ie 4, 7, 17, 32768)

What does this mean?
I Know it has something to do with the Hardware Abstraction Layers and the ACPI - Advanced Configuration and Power Interface, but i do not know how to solve it.

This is what i found about it but the discribed steps in the 1st link do no good...

The HD is a Maxtor Diamondmax plus 9 SATA

HELP!!! I need this PC for my education (tomorrow!!!)

I have found the problem...

It was a tiny greasy spot on the Windows CD... :S

And yes, it took me all night to find it...

So now it works!
