Hello,
I have a problem with windows 98 not recognising my installed SONY DVD510U writer.
As my PC boots just before windows 98 the device is reported to screen. I have two harddiscs setup as master and slave on the primary IDE my DVD writer is the only device on the seconadry IDE and it is configured as master.
I have it connected by the last connector on the ribbon.

In my Device Manager view for HardDisk Controllers I'm assuming these control the DVD drive since they control the IDE devices I have Intel 82801AA Ultra ATA Controller and linked to that a Primary Ultra ATA Controller but there are no bangs (! problematic device drivers displayed).

I've checked for bios, chipset and W98 driver upgrades.

Can anyone point me to why my DVD writer is not recognized at all by windows 98 please ?

Regards

LG
