- You can get higher resolution LCDs, but if you have seen SXGA+ and liked it, then there should be no problem.

- The ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 is only the second BEST notebook graphics available, but it is the best low power solution.

- The P4-m that it is configured with is good, just as long as you are sure that it is indeed the P4-m and not the ordinary P4.

- If you intend to run WinXP, it is good that you have a hefty amount of RAM

- Space may be welcome on a notebook, but you may want to compromise size for speed. Typically notebook hard drives run at 4200rpm, which can often be frustratingly slow - but the faster (5400rpm) are very rare at capacities of 60GB.

I had never before heard of Gericom, you should probably make sure that they are reliable and that you can hold them to their warranty etc. - if they have a forum, that would be a good place to start.

from what I can tell that is a nice notebook and the 9000 is the best now till the 9600 mobiles ship from what I have read, also the G4 460 is great as well. I found that drives of 30 GB and less tend to be always 4200 rpm and 40 + always 5400, thats what Dell does and Sony as well. But others may still use 4200 but I think as drives get bigger the maker uses faster rotation.

The GeForce 4 Go 4200 is the fastes GPU (+10000 3DMarks (2001)), and as yet, there is no 60GB 5400rpm Mobile Drive. The fastest is 4200rpm, but the 5400 should be released VERY soon. So you just need to do some homework, and sniff around until you can find some comparisons to your current choice.
