Laptop grasshopper advice

Hi all,

I'm a grasshopper who's setting up in London and trying to choose a
laptop. I want one with a Centrino chip, and enough processing power in
the sound department to run the usual host of things, eg sequencers
etc. At present I use a PC but I have no idea of laptops and there seem
to be so many on the market. Any suggestions?

Budget - £500 - £1500 but prefer <£1000.
