I remember a few months ago it seemed that revamped LCDs capable of handling heavy gaming were just around the corner.

Well I've been out of touch for the past few months, and so now I ask? Are there any LCDs out there now that a gamer could call his own?

You want your refresh rate to be 16ms or less. Lots of 17 and 19 models do this, hard to find 20" and up ones that will do better than 20ms.

That's incorrect. There are many screens that offer 16ms and lower nowadays. I know 3 23" screens that are 16ms in fact and all new 19" are and most 20"inchers. You just have to check stats but basicalyl if they just came on the market in the last 6 months they are good for gaming.
