Hard drive

I have a A7v-133 board with an ultra 100 ata... i just bought a new 30 gig drive that will not see the whole 30 gigs just 1.95gigs worth of space. the new drive is ata/133. i installed the software and it still only sees 2gigs of the drive someone please help. I have the maxtor diamond max plus 8 running xp pro on a amd 900 thunderbird. My other two drives are ata/100 ibm 7200 rpm drives they work fine....

Sounds like u installed software you didn't need to install.
Did you download this software from the vendor (of the hdd) web site?

What was the name of the software?

Your motherboard is new enough that you don't need to install special size handling software on that HDD.

You will still need to partition the drive though.

Your motherboard sees the drive properly when it boots up????????? (Right size)? Set to auto in the bios?
