I'd like to know if serial ata raid is more reliable than IDE raid.I have a new Soltek board and I'd like to try it if It's not likely to crash.Anyone have any info on it or a link they can lead me to.thanks

SATA RAID will have about the same reliability as ATA RAID. No links, just a quick explanation. as you're probably aware Serial ATA is just the next evolution of the ATA interface. the new SATA harddrives have pretty much the same mechanical components as their PATA brethern, they just have a different electronics package for the interface. (except the Raptor from WD.. it has SCSI class internals with the SATA interface.) so you'll get about the same total relabitily out of a SATA RAID setup.
anyway, hope this helps a bit.
Cheers
