Formatting hard drive from bios

i need to completely remove all from my hard drive so that i can run my restore discs i purchased from gateway- my computer is 6 mos old and came without dics as it had restore capabilities pre installed from factory- i need help as i am new to computers-THANKS-

The restore discs should be able to format your hard drives. Just use them and see how far you get.

put the disk in. it should ask you to press any key to boot from disk. do that.

It will give will you the drive. most of the time you want to delete the C: drive. after that it will show unpartitioned space. you would want to create a partition and install your operating system.
