Network scanners tend to be mondo expensive. Are the PCs physically close?
If so a USB or Firewire scanner can be hot plugged between them.
I know of no components that would allow sharing under windows, possibly there would be scan sharing software, but since it has such an impact on the host PC it seems unlikely.

this question seems to arise a lot, I've never seen an "average" scanner networked, ones we have here at work are, but these things aren't for the average user, I dont know what they cost- but to give you an idea- they scan a a4 letter in about 3 seconds.
I never see the point in having a networked scanner at home, you have to launch the scnner program, then go and put the document in the scanner, then go back to the remote pc, click "SCAN" then go back and get the document out- each time, why not just scan it on the pc connected to the scanner and save the scanned i mage in a shared directory?
