Computer freezes and shutdown

I'm currently stuck in a hell hole, because I really have no idea what is wrong with my machine at this time. Several things I have noticed is that the crashes never happens when I'm playing video games, even high demanding ones. It's weird because it does happen when browsing the internet, and mostly happens when I'm rendering a video.

When the freezing process starts, slowly applications, one by one becomes not responding. I currently have Realtemp, and while the freezing happens, the temp was around 55F, while my TJ max is 105. In my task manager > performance, my cpu usage drops down all the way down to 1% when the freezing happens. And finally even the mouse won't move, forcing me to force shutdown.

I think the computer shuts itself down after a while since when coming back home, it's in a POST situations, giving errors like no bootable device, or system fan failure.

I would appreciate any help,

EDIT: I really narrowed it down, it freezes and shuts down when I render one of my videos using Sony Vegas 10. It works flawlessly when I render other things. It's just a gameplay video I got using fraps.

More about computer freezes shutdown
  1. test your hdd with the maker tool also try a memtest one stick at the time
  2. there is an issue with older version of flash and newer nvidia video drivers make sure flash and your web browser if mozilla based is updated. (also in a flash windows turn off hardware acceleration.) dell uses a small power supply..you may be having power issue with the power supply. i use hardware monitor and check your temps and voltage. i would also clean out your computer and check that all the fans are moving. you may not have a gpu issue from heat but you can have bad video ram or voltage issue on the card from heat. try leaving the side panel open and see if the lock up stop or slow down.
