and win xp professional coperate version...?

i have heard they are exactly teh same.. but the copertae version doesn have any activation...
could i use a winxp key during installation..

im just asking cuz i've heard sp1 updates will not work on warez keys..(my cd key has liek 6 zeros in a row)...

and is there anyway to install the sp1 without using windows update..?

from what i have read, when you update using a corporate cdkey, you will be ok, but you will no longer be able to update from then on out.
meaning that your computer will not be able to be updated after installing SP1, and will remain at the current state it was when you installed SP1. i am not sure if you will be able to install the updates manually, or what, but if you are really worried about it, you can buy a copy of winxp.
you can probably get it cheap at a computer show or something like that.
or you could get WINXP home, and live without the extra settings....
but i dunno

Another way to get it cheap:

I mention a source in this thread, so scroll down a little.

hmm, sort of along the same lines, does anyone know how one would change their cd key, like if they had a bad one that was going to get blocked or messed with in whatever way by sp1, any way to change it without reinstalling windows?

I have a corporate edition and i can and do update reguraly via the Microsoft website.

Although it has a lot of good ideas, beer doesn't know anything about computers!!!

I have no clue, because I haven't done this. Go to passwird.com and email Irwin Chee about this. He'll reply for sure.

As for me, I have a Corp. copy and so far, everything's just fine updating and whatnot.

There are a number of corporate versions out there. One is an iso directly from dell and another is just the core files that you need to "patch" the retail version.

anyways.. if anyone know if i will be able to update sp1 manually or change my cd key to a valid one...

can someone post that dell oem cd key? or other ones that microsoft wont ban.. thanks a bunch...

im sorry if i promoting piracy in thie community.. but there no way im gonan dish out that much cash.. since i have 2 boxes...

anyways.. any info will be appreciated.. thanks
